Bots appearing offline from Gtalk

Google Talk users trying to connect to a bot.im screen name will notice that the bot appears offline and is unresponsive. Google is currently having some server to server connection issues preventing their users from communicating with other federated jabber domains. We have contacted Google (as have others) and will update the status here when we know more.

Update 2/16/09:
Gtalk issues have been resolved. Gtalk users will now see bot.im screen names online.

Good news. But, actually, where could u find a list of available bots?

  2. Johan Says:

Oh, sorry, it’s a typo. *I* find, of course :-)

  3. splatzone Says:

Just wondering, how do you create a bot for MSN? Currently I can only make bots for Gtalk, but MSN access is pretty much essential for me.

  4. Dave Says:

Once you have created your bot which is really setting up a jabber/Gtalk ID, you can click on “Network Settings” under the bots settings to “attach” an existing MSN screen name to the bot.

  5. splatzone Says:

    Ahh, thanks!

  6. Sebastien Says:

I have been using the imified@imified.com bot. I has not been working for some time, but since a few days (16 Feb) it is showing my Twitter friends’ messages again. However, the bot does not respond to my commands (’M’ or ‘6′). I need this, since I want to turn of the Twitter messages.

  13. Lanji Says:

I’m also seeing the same problem. I’m using pidgin as my client, but going through my gtalk.com account. I’ve been getting hit multiple times an hour with Twitter updates I just want to stop at this point please, but no message (M, 1, etc) will work, instead I get a XMPP 404 error.

  14. DTL Says:

I’m using the imified@imified.com bot through GTalk (with BaseCamp, Twitter, and Facebook modules/services enabled), and I’m getting sporadic responses from the imified@imified.com bot.

Sometimes “M” gives a menu instantaneously, sometimes it returns 2 minutes later.

Should I be creating my own new bot to use for faster response time? Is there a simple way to create a private bot with the Basecamp, Twitter, and Facebook modules?

  15. Marko Says:

Bots are offline again for the last couple of days. MSN ans gtalk, and restarting them does no good.
And why can’t I post to forum and/or why does no one answer me on the mail?

  16. Chinmay Says:

Marco is right, my bot went offline on 20th March and still no sign of life. I urgently need this bot to work, but unfortunately doesn’t have any control. I tried recreating it but still it’s dead. However. it works in the debugging tool (Bot gone Zombie ?!! LoL) ?!!!

    Help !!!

    Thanks.

  17. massaint Says:

I have no problem with my other previous bots … i’m still able to restart them … but not the new one. any solution ?

it seems the server is not stable …
sometimes bots are online on YM but not in GTalk/Jabber …

more “stable” on YM than on GTalk … but still far from stable

  24. Kim Says:

Hmm, imified for Gtalk appears as offline, and AIM doesn’t want to talk to me:

    me: help
IMified did not receive your chat.
    me: why not?
IMified did not receive your chat.
    me: menu
IMified did not receive your chat.

  25. Kim Says:

Oh, and this is interesting… when I send an offline chat to the Gtalk one, it works. Odd.

  26. Kim Says:
